Are you ready for PAX Unplugged? I know I am! I’ll be there the whole weekend. Anything you want me to check out and report back? let me know in the comments!

I’ll be posting some photos, maybe a livestream, and a podcast or two. *gasp* You should think about checking out the con this or next year if you can.

PAX Unplugged 2018 On Sale NOW

Time to get ready to go back to Philly in 2018!

PAX Unplugged is happening November 30 – December 2, 2018, and the tickets are on sale now. The convention was a great time last year and I got to chat with a lot of cool people and try out even cooler games, even did a little interview section on the podcast. People want a Post-PAX 2018?

Head over to PAX Unplugged’s site right now to register for the fun times. It is $65 for a 3-Day pass and lesser for single days.

RPG Hiatus

I mentioned in the recent Nothing Fancy video but if you missed it, the weekly RPG Dramas will be taking a little hiatus. There is one more HEX episode to be edited for 2017. Sadly it will not air this Friday. So slightly early hiatus, followed by  an episode, followed by more of a hiatus to finish out the year.

I’m hoping the hiatus doesn’t extend too far into January but I’ll keep you posted on when to expect more episodes.

In the meantime, check out my PAXunplugged interview from this past weekend. It isn’t an RPG but there is some good stuff about upcoming/existing.

Post-PAX: Unplugged 2017 Interviews

PAX Unplugged is completed and what a time it was! While I was there I caught up with a couple game companies to talk about their games. I was able to record interviews with Baba Geek Games, Osprey Games, Leder Games, and Rule & Make.

Stream/DL them here: SoundCloud / iTunes / GooglePlay / Stitcher

Day One of PAX Unplugged Complete

First day is done, free play section is closed down, time to get some sleep.

While I plan to do a little more in-depth discussion on this new convention, I can say it was a pretty good place to play games. Plenty of space and looked like a good amount of games to check out, though I can’t fully comment on that because I come prepared. Perhaps a little too prepared but fun was had!

Curious about PAX Unplugged?

As I have mentioned a few times in the past, I will be at PAX Unplugged and reporting back with some interviews, random videos, pictures of games I’m playing, and more! Got to report on this new convention!

Feel free to say hi if you are there but if you are unable to attend, let me know if there is something you’d like to know or want me to check out for you. Hit the comments below and I’ll be sure to put it on a list…unless it is Dominion. Sorry, I just can’t.

Robit Riddle, a Robot Mystery

It is no secret that I am a fan of narrative driven games, so it is interesting to see how different board game designers approach this topic. Robit Riddle is a mystery/adventure game I first saw at Origins, had a successful Kickstarter, and now will be at PAX Unplugged as their production phase comes to an end. So it is right around a corner.

I hope to get more information on the game at PAX Unplugged so if you have any questions, leave them in the comments below.

Leder Games Presents… Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right

PAX Unplugged is mere weeks away and there will be a lot of games there. One of which appeared in my inbox today and has me intrigued. It is reminiscent of VAST (it even has the same artist) but you play as cute furry creatures. Four animal factions that play differently; whether you want to build up your empire, try to steal other territory, be sneaky with late game surprises, or a combination of the three. Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right seems like a narrowed down scope of what VAST was and that could be for the better.

It is up on Kickstarter and will be at Leder Games’ booth (1248) at PAX Unplugged. This is definitely a game I will be checking out at the convention. Hit the jump for the press release and link to Kickstarter…

PAX Unplugged Has Got Some Exhibitors (Updated)

And by some I mean a LOT!

PAX Unplugged looks like it will be a lot of fun and it is good to see that board game companies appear to be head over heals ready to support this new endeavor. From giants like Wizards of the Coast and CMON to lesser known companies like PulsArt Studios, Hero Forge, and Nauvoo Games… the number & type of exhibitors is great & varied.

I’m anxious to attend and cover some of what goes on there. Is there any companies you hope to see and/or I should cover?

Hit the jump for the full list of exhibitors and press release!
