The Kickstarter is coming tomorrow (April 3), and that looks kind of like a monster. I’ve talked about this game before a few times and now it is about ready to go. Might be a great thing to have on the table, let’s hope it ramps up the gameplay a touch from the original expansion.

Be on the lookout for the KS. More pictures and goodies to look at including four expansions (because of course!) will be available at launch. $60 for base game and $130 for everything.

I Can Deal #039: Disorganized Chaos…Board Game Chat Edition

After too long, we are back! To ease back into the swing of things, a disorganized, organic chat about board games felt in order. One of the giggle twins joins the show along with Robin. Hope you stick around for the chat, it goes places. Got a topic with board games you want to hear us talk about? Let us know in the comments or via social media @NTBoardGames!

Leder Games Presents… Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right

PAX Unplugged is mere weeks away and there will be a lot of games there. One of which appeared in my inbox today and has me intrigued. It is reminiscent of VAST (it even has the same artist) but you play as cute furry creatures. Four animal factions that play differently; whether you want to build up your empire, try to steal other territory, be sneaky with late game surprises, or a combination of the three. Root: A Game of Woodland Might and Right seems like a narrowed down scope of what VAST was and that could be for the better.

It is up on Kickstarter and will be at Leder Games’ booth (1248) at PAX Unplugged. This is definitely a game I will be checking out at the convention. Hit the jump for the press release and link to Kickstarter…

The 7th Continent Ending Soon!

Usually I don’t post about Kickstarters because I’d be here all day, but this one is bit of an exception for reasons that should be made apparent. First and foremost…the KS campaign for The 7th Continent ends Thursday, October 19, at 5:59 pm ET. So if you are interested in the game, jump on it!

Why is that? Hit the jump to find out…

What’s Inside My Box: Shadows of Brimstone

As I alluded to earlier this week, I finally got the last of my Shadows of Brimstone Kickstarter order. This is wave two and there is a lot in the box. Seemingly too much one could venture to say. Well let’s get to it and see what they jammed into this heavy package!

Hit the jump to open it up.

Resident Evil…2!!!

That title was totally done like this. If you played any Resident Evil video game, you would hear it in the voice. It is pretty iconic. And now board gamers can experience the pleasure…well you still won’t hear it since I doubt they will include an audio player in the box to play before each game. That wouldn’t be cost effective and would be awfully silly. But could you imagine having that it in your box to press every time you start the game?! Who would press the button? You could have a different person press it every time new zombies appeared or other monsters as well. RESIDENT EVIL…TWO!!! It would work, right? Might be pretty co…

So yeah, there is a board game being made of this video game.

When Excitement Fades: Shadows of Brimstone

My final judgement has not been passed but my feelings feel like they are solidifying in stone for this board game. But it is a story, a journey if you will, that I feel like telling. This is a tale of a board game that I am sure a lot of people will say “that’s why you don’t do Kickstarter.”

ALONE: Dead Space the Board Game?

I’m not exclusively a board gamer; I enjoy video games as well. One of my favorite series released was the Dead Space series. Short version of the series: an Engineer gets caught up in the middle of a cult that inadvertently(?) worships a plague that creates monstrosities out of dead people, all while in space. If you couldn’t guess, it was a horror/action title with you trying to survive against all odds.

The video game series has long been dead but it seems like a board game is on the way that scratches that itch…
