ALONE: Dead Space the Board Game?

I’m not exclusively a board gamer; I enjoy video games as well. One of my favorite series released was the Dead Space series. Short version of the series: an Engineer gets caught up in the middle of a cult that inadvertently(?) worships a plague that creates monstrosities out of dead people, all while in space. If you couldn’t guess, it was a horror/action title with you trying to survive against all odds.

The video game series has long been dead but it seems like a board game is on the way that scratches that itch…

These days it is hard to find someone who hasn’t heard of the card game Cards Against Humanity, whether it is from playing the game or the moral objections based on the cards within its box. It hit at the “right” time and now it is almost everywhere. It all started on Kickstarter and now another company has a replacement product for those tired of their friends suggesting to play CAH.

At first glance, Blood Rage– a game that consists of highly detailed viking and monster miniatures– might be assumed to be a highly aggressive meat grinder of a war game, where you battle against your opponents in bloody duels for the glory of your clan. It’s practically right there in the name! Plus vikings! I mean, come on! But if that’s the impression you walked away with after taking a look at the game box, you’d be wrong. Well, mostly wrong.
