Drinks Up, Fancy Game Time?

I don’t know about you, but I typically think of wine being more on the fancy side of the adult beverages. Doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with them. That’s why NTBG will be doing some events at our local Urban Winery! Not a fan of wine? Don’t worry, they have beer, mead, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages. There are also some food. should you get hungry.

Our first event will be Tuesday, April 17 at 7pm. Be sure to RSVP on the MeetUp if you are planning to attend.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Board Games?

That is totally how that saying goes. What, you think it goes another way? Well maybe it does. So it is time for NonTraditional Board Games to combine with nontraditional flavors!

April 3rd, the NTBG MeetUp group will have an event at Moorenko’s Ice Cream Cafe. Check out our events to RSVP on MeetUp for the event. Be sure to swing by and grab a pint for the first of hopefully many game days there.

Think about it, our MeetUp group will now be playing games in an ice cream cafe. How sweet is that?!

Five Years of Board Games?!

That’s right, it has been five years since I started the NonTraditional Board Games MeetUp group. I’m sure you’ve heard the origins over and over on podcasts and bios so I won’t bore you with any of that stuff. What I will do is let you know we will be celebrating this milestone at the MeetUp this Saturday.

Hit the jump to find out more!

Goodbye UnPub, Hello Unpublished Game Designer Day!

Due to UnPub not posting our library event, not responding to multiple emails, not responding to their contact forum, and not responding on Twitter, we will be rebranding our event in November to Unpublished Game Designers Day!

If you are an unpublished game designer and want to come out to Silver Spring, MD to show off your cool upcoming game, don’t hesitate to reach out.

WashingCon League Rules

Welcome to The League @ WashingCon!

The League is a fun, little metagame that you can play at WashingCon if you purchase a wristband. There are four teams: Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow. All you have to do is play games and if you win and the opponent has a ribbon, they yield one to you. If you lose, you give one away. At the end of the day, turn in the ribbons to be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift card to Labyrinth Games & Puzzles.

If you are interested and want to know more, head over to the League page for full rules or ask the bearded one with the Jabba Palace/Rancor work shirt who is handing out the wristbands.
